Position Information Position Type: Sport/Activity Coaching / Basketball Date Posted: 6/24/2026 Closing Date: 07/09/2026 School Year 2026 - 2027 School Year Position Description Hampshire Middle School seeks a highly motivated individual to serve as Girls Basketball Coach with strong knowledge of basketball and a focus on student‑athletic achievement. Must be able to coach at all levels within the program, be organized, flexible, able to take direction from the direct supervisor, and work with parents and the Booster Club. Responsibilities Previous coaching experience preferred. Manage all levels within the program, maintaining organization and flexibility. Lead fundraising, organization, and other tasks for the program. Coordinate with Athletic Department to schedule games, officials, and transportation. Maintain accurate records of equipment for the entire program. Organize and oversee all program levels and areas of responsibility. Communicate with Athletic Director to secure facilities and ensure a safe practice/competition environment. Set philosophy, programmatic instruction and conditioning to maximize the student‑athlete experience. Plan practice sessions and competition strategies with assistant coach ensuring health and well‑being of student participants. Coordinate in‑season practices with Athletic Director. Ensure student participants comply with D300 and IHSA requirements including current athletic physical, Code of Conduct, fees paid, and academic eligibility. Model sportsmanship and fair play, enforce consequences for breaches. Attend all practices, games, and supervise on school‑provided transportation. Provide end‑of‑season individual and team records and statistics to Athletic Director. Participate in mandatory preseason parent meetings and other meetings. Plan for seasonal student‑athlete recognition. Distribute and collect uniforms and equipment. Perform other duties as assigned by Athletic Director. Qualifications Strong knowledge of basketball and athletic coaching. Prior coaching experience preferred. Organized, flexible, and able to take direction. Strong communication skills with parents and booster club. Understanding of IHSA and D300 compliance. Application Procedure Apply online.
