Position Type: Sport/Activity Coaching / Basketball Date Posted: 6/24/2026 Closing Date: 07/09/2026 2026 – 2027 School Year Position Description Hampshire Middle School is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Boys Basketball Coach with a strong knowledge of Basketball and a focus on student‑athletic achievement. The candidate must be able to coach at all levels within the program, be organized and flexible, take direction from their direct supervisor, and work with parents and the Booster Club. Performance Responsibilities / Requirements / Qualifications Previous coaching experience is preferred. Must manage all levels and areas within the program, be organized, flexible, and work with parents and the Booster Club. Enhance, improve, and maximize students' athletic skills required to compete at a high level. Lead an athletic program for sustained participation and success. In the off‑season, provide strength and speed training, and lead fundraising, organization, and other tasks for the program. Work with the Athletic Department to schedule games, officials, and transportation. Maintain accurate records of equipment for the entire program. Organize and oversee all program levels and areas of responsibility. Coordinate with the Athletic Director to secure facilities for safe practice and competition environments. Set the philosophy, programmatic instruction of sequential fundamentals, and proper conditioning to maximize the student‑athlete experience. Plan with assistant coach practice sessions and competition strategies to ensure the health and well‑being of student participants. Coordinate in‑season practices with the Athletic Director. Ensure all student participants comply with D300 and IHSA requirements, including current athletic physical, Code of Conduct, fees paid, and academic eligibility, prior to practice, tryout, and competition. Model sportsmanship and fair play, enforcing consequences for breaches of such standards. Attend all practices, games, and supervise on school‑transportation. Maintain and provide the Athletic Director with end‑of‑season individual and team records and statistics. Participate in a mandatory preseason parent meeting and head coaching minutes. Plan for the seasonal student‑athlete recognition. Distribute and collect uniforms and equipment. Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director. Application Procedures Apply online.
