Position Details Position Type: Sport/Activity Coaching / Wrestling Date Posted: 6/24/2026 Location: Hampshire High School Closing Date: 07/08/2026 Position Description Hampshire High School is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Head Wrestling Coach with strong knowledge of Boys Wrestling and program management focused on student-athletic achievement. The candidate must be able to coach at all levels within the program, demonstrate organizational and flexible skills, take direction from a direct supervisor, and work collaboratively with parents and the Booster Club. Performance Responsibilities / Requirements / Qualifications Head Wrestling Coaching experience preferred. Must manage all levels within the program, be organized, flexible, able to work with parents and the Booster Club, and responsive to the Athletic Director. Enhance, improve, and maximize students’ athletic skills required to compete at a high level. Lead the athletic program for sustained participation and success. Work with the Athletic Department to schedule all games, officials, and transportation. Maintain accurate records of equipment for the entire program. Organize and oversee all program levels and responsibilities. Communicate with the Athletic Director to secure facilities and ensure a safe practice/competition environment for students. Set the philosophy, programmatic instruction of sequential fundamentals, and proper conditioning to maximize the student-athlete experience. Plan practice sessions and competition strategies with the assistant coach to ensure the health and physical well‑being of student participants. Coordinate in‑season practices with the Athletic Director. Ensure all student participants are in compliance with D300 and IHSA requirements, including current athletic physicals, Code of Conduct, fees, and academic eligibility, prior to practice, tryout, and competition. Model and instill the values of sportsmanship and fair play to all participants and enforce consequences for breaches of these standards. Attend all student-athlete practices, games, and supervise practice, games, and school‑provided transportation. Maintain and provide the Athletic Director with end‑of‑season individual and team records and statistics. Participate in a mandatory preseason parent meeting and head coaching minutes. Plan for the seasonal student‑athlete recognition. Distribute and collect uniforms and equipment. Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
