Certified Medical Assistant ($5,000 Sign-On Bonus)

Job Overview Kinwell is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant to join our clinic in Olympia, WA. The role supports primary care clinicians by preparing charts, greeting patients, administering tests, managing appointments, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked clinical environment. The position includes a $5,000 sign‑on bonus for external applicants and eligible rehires. Responsibilities Greet patients and prepare them for physical examinations, including obtaining vital signs, weight, height, reviewing medications, medical history, and allergies. Perform ancillary tests such as rapid testing, blood draws, and other routine laboratory procedures as ordered. Assist clinicians during patient examinations and treatment, and provide patient education on visit details and comfort. Set up and assist in procedures, dispense medications and supplies as directed by clinicians. Prepare specimens for laboratory testing and manage lab documentation. Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, clinic spaces, equipment, and stockrooms. Perform routine maintenance checks and sterilization of medical equipment. Maintain inventory of lab and clinic supplies and reorder as necessary. Assist in managing clinic and clinician schedules to maximize efficiency and patient flow. Collaborate with Patient Care Coordinators to review visit schedules and support daily clinical huddles. Ensure accurate record‑keeping and documentation of patient visits, tests, and treatments in the EMR system. Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules as outlined in training. Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions regarding patient care, clinic operations, and workflow improvements. Qualifications Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) at time of hire. Active Washington state certification through the Department of Health as a Certified Medical Assistant or Interim Certified Medical Assistant. High school diploma or equivalent. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare strongly preferred from AHA, Red Cross, MTN, or willingness to obtain within six months. Experience using EPIC (preferred). Demonstrated clinical expertise and proficiency in clinical procedures. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks while maintaining strong attention to detail. Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Excellent communication skills and ability to gather patient history and current conditions. Independent decision‑making skills and ability to influence others to resolve issues. Ability to work as a member of a team or independently without supervision or direction. Discreet handling of sensitive and confidential information. Work Environment Clinical setting with frequent patient interactions, standard office conditions, and frequent use of computers, phones, and medical record systems. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for long periods and move freely within the clinic. Ability to exert up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Ability to use a keyboard and communicate clearly in person and over the telephone. Vaccine Requirement Proof of or written attestation of a religious or medical exemption for influenza and Hepatitis B vaccines. Healthcare providers may also be subject to CDC recommended vaccines.
