Other related duties as assigned. Responsibilities General Functions Washes pots and pans by hand and by machine according to food safety standards Cleans and sanitizes dishes. Collects soiled items from cafeteria/lounges/nursing units. Operates, cleans, and sanitizes necessary equipment. Sweeps and mops all areas of the department. Collects and dispose of trash. Transport of food to other areas as needed. Transports carts to and from other units while respecting hospital property / Utilizes equipment and chemicals safely. Monitors, corrects, and logs sanitation control. Reports equipment malfunctions/concerns Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations. Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively. Maintains safe environment. Addresses patient population-specific needs Participates in Performance Improvement activities. Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION: Able to read, write and understand the English language. PREFERRED EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 1 year of experience REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: ANSI Accredited Texas Food Handler or ANSI Accredited Food Manager course or Certified Food Manager from the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District Organization Description Baptist Health System has more than 120 years history of caring for our community and making a positive difference.
