Product Sales Specialist - Commodity Trading

Wood Mackenzie is looking for an enthusiastic, talented, and ambitious sales professional to join our growing Trading Solutions Sales team. As a Product Sales Specialist (PSS) you will partner with the Vertical and New Logo sales teams to further identify, grow and embed our oil, gas and power trading solutions product suite across our existing customer base and new logos, primarily in the Americas. Main Responsibilities Product and sector expertise Develop a deep understanding of the value of our trading solutions products and the oil, gas and power trading sectors to support new business identification. Act as an internal ambassador for the trading solutions business, supporting communication of product enhancements and market developments across the organisation and working with teams including sales, customer education, customer success, marketing, research and consulting. Growth mindset Partner closely with Account Management colleagues to identify and develop new commercial opportunities within existing customer accounts by understanding client workflows, uncovering unmet needs, identifying new buying centres and demonstrating the breadth of Wood Mackenzie’s trading solutions suite. Collaborate with the New Logo Sales team to support new business opportunities across the sales cycle, including qualification, validation and understanding customer needs while demonstrating the breadth of Wood Mackenzie’s trading solutions. Territory planning Develop, regularly maintain, and own a sales plan for your territory. Identify key growth markets, needle‑moving opportunities and risks within your existing portfolio to plan your time effectively and develop a sales strategy and tactics. Collaborate with other stakeholders to build and execute on your plan, including Account Management, New Logo Sales, other Product Sales colleagues, Customer Success, Research and Consulting. Product development collaboration Work closely with the Product and Research teams to help shape the trading solutions product development roadmap based on customer feedback, your experience and knowledge of customer workflows and relevant competitor intelligence. Support new trading solutions product and service development launches. Qualifications Significant experience in client‑facing, pre‑sales or technical/solution specialist roles. Experience engaging with oil, gas and power trading desks and a strong understanding of their workflows. Deep knowledge of the oil, gas and power trading sector. Extensive commercial track record in supporting client development and acting as a trusted subject‑matter expert. Self‑motivated, energetic, solution‑oriented and results‑oriented. Proven track record of collaborating with different internal teams to achieve commercial success. Outstanding judgment in resource utilisation and optimisation. Passionate about growing the business and a genuine interest in developing and growing yourself. Intellectual curiosity about how data and analysis solve critical business issues. Effective organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage own workload efficiently. Previous experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce is an advantage.
