About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry / Client Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA) Must-Have: Experience in neurological care Description: This position involves working in a specialized unit focused on Telemetry and Client care. The unit operates with a total of 32 beds. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5 during day shifts and 1:6 during night shifts. Licensed Practical Nurses may assist during night shifts. A charge nurse is present on every shift. Nurse aides or patient care technicians are also available to support nursing staff. Self-scheduling and block scheduling are permitted. Weekend work is required every other weekend or less. Holiday coverage is assigned on a rotation basis. Floating to other units may be necessary when needed. Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certifications are required. Nurses must be able to titrate drips such as Amiodarone, Heparin, Insulin, and Cardizem. The unit primarily cares for patients with cardiac, neurological, stroke, and seizure diagnoses. Respiratory therapy equipment may be used short-term. Nurses are responsible for reading their own cardiac strips using telemetry monitors. The dress code requires wearing navy blue scrubs.
