About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Medical Cardiac Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Experience in Medical Cardiac Description: Unit includes 32 beds. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5 during the day shift and 1:6 during the night shift. Registered Nurses are required to titrate drips such as Amiodarone, Heparin, Insulin, and Cardizem. A charge nurse is present on each shift and takes an assignment. Certified nursing assistants assist with patient care, managing a ratio of 1:12-15. They perform tasks such as taking vital signs, bathing, blood glucose monitoring, phlebotomy, and activities of daily living (ADLs). Registered Nurses troubleshoot with High Flow and BiPap equipment for less than 24 hours. There are no Tele/Monitor Technicians on the unit; Registered Nurses read strips during their shifts using GE tele monitors. Self-scheduling and block scheduling are permissible. Every other weekend or less is required for weekend shifts. Holiday shifts are assigned on a rotational basis. On-call is required as a last resort for travelers. Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled during a 13-week assignment. Charting is conducted using the EPIC system.
