Payroll Specialist

Overview:
Hixen Search Group is seeking an experienced prevailing wage professional for a permanent position with a reputable construction company near Canal Winchester, OH (Southeast Columbus).
This person will be one of two associates specializing in prevailing wage and report directly to the accounting manager.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and review all needed documents from sub-contractors and make sure rates are in accordance by rule
- Handling multiple projects and multiple sub-contractors per project (about 30-40 projects at any given time)
- Compile and deliver a monthly packet regarding all prevailing wage work to company clients
- Ad-hoc projects when needed, working closely with the payroll team and leadership

Desired Candidate Profile:
- 1+ years of Prevailing Wage experience is required
- In depth knowledge of what information is required to be obtained from sub-contractors, and the ability to work directly with them to obtain this information
- Ability to handle a large volume of communication via email
- Any process improvement experience is a plus - Ideally a proactive individual who is willing to present new ideas on completing work more efficiently
