Job Description:


- Location: Corpus Christi, TX
- Schedule: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday (13 weeks)


Unit Highlights:
- Environment: Thriving Operating Room Department
- Team Composition:
- CVOR Surgeons
- Registered Nurses (RNs)
- Certified Surgical Technologists (CVOR Scrub Techs)
- Anesthesia Providers
- Perfusionists
- Surgical Assistants


Patient Care:
- Exceptional 1:1 patient care in the operating room

Equipment Used:
- Advanced cardiovascular surgical instrumentation
- Heart-lung bypass equipment
- Endoscopic vein harvesting equipment
- Cell saver
- Surgical microscopes and specialty cardiovascular equipment


Typical Procedures:
- Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
- Valve Repair and Replacement
- TAVR Procedures
- Aortic Aneurysm Repairs
- Vascular Surgical Procedures
- Open Heart Surgery

Hiring Profile:
- Ideal Candidate: Experienced CVOR Certified Surgical Technologists with open-heart surgery experience
- Must Have:
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
- CVOR/Open Heart Surgery scrub experience
- Experience with cardiac and vascular surgical procedures
- Ability to take call and respond within required timeframe


Dress Code:
- Hospital-provided scrubs

Unit Guidelines/Policies:
- Participate in scheduled call rotation
- Maintain competencies for cardiovascular surgical procedures
- Work independently in a high-acuity CVOR setting

Call Requirements:
- On-call coverage for some Thursdays
- Monthly call rotation of approximately 10-12 call days
- Weekend call rotated among team members
- Must report within established call-back response time
