This role oversees customer support, software systems, technical services, and student technology staff to ensure reliable technology services for residential students and employees. Key Responsibilities Customer Support Oversee Help Desk and RezCon operations, including scheduling, recruitment, training, and onboarding of student staff. Troubleshoot network and technology issues, manage ServiceNow and StarRez cases, and support staff and residential technology needs. Provide lead work direction to technology support staff and coordinate equipment, printing services, and special technology projects. Software Support Manage integrations, updates, and support for StarRez, TMA, CBORD, RezLife, TCP, Humanity, Notifi, and other OHA applications. Support device and system management using Jamf, Intune, Active Directory, Azure, Remote Desktop, and related platforms. Provide technical support for system configurations, upgrades, software solutions, and operational projects. Technical Support Services Manage and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment, networking components, VLANs, and other technology infrastructure. Evaluate technology needs and recommend hardware, software, and process improvements to support OHA operations. Position Information This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent/probationary position. This position is designated as exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs. This position is eligible for telecommuting up to 1 days per week, following a training period during which on-site presence is required. Department Summary The Office of Housing Administration (OHA) is a self-funded operation responsible for planning, providing, and administering housing operations, services, and facilities with over 100 employees and more than 150 student assistants. With an annual operating budget exceeding $159 million, OHA provides housing for over 9,000 students, live-in professional staff, and faculty across 25 residential buildings totaling more than 2 million square feet of residential facilities. OHA also operates SDSU-IV housing at the Imperial Valley campus. OHA manages the operation of residence halls, apartments, and conference and event spaces. In partnership with the Residential Education Office (REO), OHA supports the educational mission of the university while providing the business operations for all housing-related functions, ensuring a high-quality environment that enhances the student educational experience. Education and Experience Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of relevant experience. Additional experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Key Qualifications Knowledge of network basics such as different protocols, VPNs, VLANs, Firewalls. Knowledge of multiple operating systems including Mac OS, iOS, Windows 11, Microsoft Admin and Endpoint management tools for Mac (Jamf) and Windows (Intune). Knowledge of Automation tools, APIs, scripting, ITSM and ticketing and cloud infrastructure. Directory Service such as Active Directory, Entra ID and access controls. Proficient understanding of windows server operating system and virtualizations. Knowledge of systems integration principles, including data exchange, interoperability, and system architecture. Knowledge of application programming interfaces (APIs), including REST and SOAP web services. Knowledge of data formats and exchange standards such as JSON, XML, and CSV. Knowledge of authentication and security protocols, including OAuth, SAML, Single Sign-On (SSO), and API keys. Knowledge of database concepts, SQL, data mapping, and data validation. Licenses/Certifications Required Valid California Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire. Compensation Step placement will be determined based on relevant qualifications and professional experience, in alignment with the department’s budget and equity guidelines. Initial step placement is not expected to exceed Step 1 ($6,492 per month). Salary step placement for internal applicants will follow the CSUEU Collective Bargaining Agreement. CSU Classification Salary Range: $6,492 - $9,458 per month (Step 1 – Step 20). Future increases, including step advancements, are subject to contract negotiations.
