Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract opportunity is ideal for a compassionate Special Education Teacher who thrives on making a positive impact with a smaller caseload. With a focus on life skills, you’ll have the rewarding task of supporting and guiding students as they achieve important developmental milestones in both academic and daily living skills.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Texas Special Education (SPED) Teaching License
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Experience in life skills or functional living skills settings preferred
- Familiarity with creating individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Patience, creativity, and strong communication skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom culture
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct specialized instruction to a caseload of 7 elementary students in a dedicated life skills classroom
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to students’ unique strengths and needs
- Collaborate actively with fellow educators, support staff, and families to optimize learning success
- Utilize a variety of teaching techniques and adaptive resources to increase engagement and independence
- Monitor, track, and report on student progress and adapt strategies as needed
- Maintain an organized, safe, and nurturing learning space
