We are seeking a dedicated Physician to join a well-supported correctional health team in the Houston area. This is an opportunity to practice hands-on, mission-driven medicine with a diverse patient population—without the administrative burden and unpredictability of traditional hospital settings.

Position Highlights

Practice Setting

• Correctional health environment with a strong focus on continuity of care and population health
• Work with an underserved population where you can make a genuine, lasting impact

Schedule

• Night Shift Only: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Full-time employed position ( no locums/1099)
• 7 shifts per pay period
• Structured schedule allows for consistent time off and recovery

Clinical Scope

This role offers a broad, engaging scope of practice with a balance of autonomy and support:

• Intake assessments and urgent care
• Chronic disease management
• Emergency stabilization (BLS level)
• Coordination of specialty referrals
• Collaborative, team-based care model

Patient Volume: Approximately 2–3 patients per hour

Higher-acuity cases are safely transferred to Ben Taub Hospital (Level I Trauma Center) nearby—ensuring you can focus on appropriate, manageable care within your setting.

Team & Support

You’ll be practicing in a highly supported environment , including:

• RNs, LVNs, and Psych Techs
• Dedicated Nurse Practitioners & Physician Assistants
• Full ancillary services:
  • On-site radiology, lab, dental, pharmacy, and nutrition

This structure allows you to focus on patient care—not logistics.

• Hourly Rate: ~$187.45/hour
