The Perks of the Senior Accountant Role
- $85,000/yr maximum
- Brooklyn, NY (Bushwick/Ridgewood area); hybrid schedule—typically 3 to 4 days in-office during onboarding, then alternates 3 days/2 days in-office/remote weekly, Friday remote
- Accessible via public transit (F and J lines)
- PTO, medical benefits, professional growth, and organizational stability from day one of assignment
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant
- Own bank and general ledger reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy for monthly close
- Support year-end audit preparation and assist with schedules, documentation, and variance explanations
- Collaborate with accounting manager and controller on entries, adjustments, and reporting
- Contribute to NetSuite system migration, identifying and resolving discrepancies
Must-Have Skills/Experience
- Three or more years of accounting experience with strong GL and bank reconciliation background
- Track record of supporting full month-end close processes
- Proficiency with Excel; able to perform data analysis and reconcile complex accounts
- Nonprofit experience (Preferred)
- Audit support experience (Preferred)
