Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty License: Compact or state license required Certifications: - BLS - ACLS - NIHSS Must-Have: - Epic experience - Previous charge experience Description: Combined PCU and medical-surgical unit. Will be expected to float between the two units. Emphasis is on neuro patients, but will care for overflow patients. Must be trained on epilepsy monitoring unit for monitoring and interviewing epilepsy patients. Nurse-patient ratio is 1:3-5 depending on acuity. Local travelers within specified radius are not accepted. Will be expected to work three out of five winter holidays. Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required. Experience in telemetry, pre/post neurosurgery, and seizure disorders is necessary. Must have the ability to care for various patient diagnoses. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. Candidates will float within the facility or to nearby affiliate facilities. Must be aware of rehire eligibility policies if previously employed. Modules are billable but not included in non-billable hours.
