TIG Welder Needed ASAP!

Weekly Pay $26-33/hr

Job Description

This role focuses on precision TIG welding of stainless steel components used in the manufacturing of Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) ion pumps. You will work primarily on butt welds with some piping work, producing short-run orders and gradually mastering a range of standard and custom products. Over time, you will learn to weld approximately 20 standard products as well as custom variations using detailed blueprints and schematics. This is bench work!

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality TIG welding on stainless steel components.

• Execute primarily butt welds, with occasional piping welds, while maintaining consistent quality and precision.

• Interpret and work from blueprints and schematics to complete welding tasks accurately.

• Learn and master welding procedures for approximately 20 different standard products over time.

• Weld custom variations of standard products based on customer specifications and engineering blueprints.

• Complete short-run welding projects, typically averaging 3–10 parts per order, while meeting production timelines.

• Inspect welds for quality and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as needed to ensure proper fit and finish.

• Collaborate closely with a small welding team and production staff to support smooth workflow and on-time delivery.

Essential Skills

• At least 3+ years of TIG welding experience on stainless steel.

• Demonstrated ability to perform TIG welding on stainless steel components with high precision and quality.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.

• Current welding certification.

• Ability to perform butt welds and basic piping welds.

• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly as needed.

• Attention to detail and commitment to producing clean, consistent welds.

• Strong teamwork and communication skills suited to a small, collaborative welding team.

Work Environment

The organization operates as a small company with roughly 40 employees, including a production team of about 25 people and a dedicated welding team of 6, creating a close, team-oriented environment. The facility is a new, very clean building that supports precision manufacturing of stainless steel UHV ion pump components. The culture places a strong emphasis on being a team player and maintaining a positive, respectful atmosphere on the production floor.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shakopee, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
