Home Health & Hospice Prior Authorization SpecialistPuget Sound Home Health & Hospice is seeking an experienced Insurance Prior Authorization Specialist to help ensure patients receive the care they need without unnecessary delays.$25–$30/hour, DOE | Full-Time | Remote | Working PSTHealth: Medical, dental & vision, health concierge, HSA/FSATime Off: Paid holidays, sick time & PTOFinancial: 401(k) match, company-paid life & AD&DExtras: Disability & voluntary insurance optionsGrowth: Professional development & advancement opportunities2 years of Home Health and/or Hospice agency prior authorization or billing experienceHomecare Homebase (HCHB) experience requiredStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple prioritiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong customer service and collaborative problem-solving skillsAbility to stay organized and work independently in a remote environmentVerify primary and secondary insurance coverage and patient eligibilityObtain visit authorizations from payers and submit required clinical documentationVerify Medicare and Medicaid eligibility using UGS/DDE and EDSEnter and maintain accurate authorization and patient information in Homecare Homebase (HCHB)Track authorized and unauthorized visits and follow up as neededMaintain current payer requirements and initiate appeals for denied authorizationsPrepare patient copay estimates and communicate authorized visits to schedulingCollaborate with clinical, contracting, scheduling, and office teams to resolve authorization issuesAssist patients, referral sources, and community partners with payer authorization and coverage questions
