THE ROLE
The Toledo Complex includes the Huntington Center and the Glass City Center, and this role provides support across both locations. The HR Manager will work within the Venue & Food and Beverage Operations at the Toledo Complex. They partner with leaders across their respective venues and provides strategic advice on a wide variety of areas to maximize organizational performance and to cultivate Legends culture. He/she provides recommendations, counsel, and coaching to managers, and employees (union and non-union) on all HR matters including but not limited to areas of performance management, employee relations, HR policies and procedures, training & development, employee engagement, and staffing & recruitment.
This role will proactively anticipate labor/employee relations issues and provide timely and appropriate counsel to resolve them. They will also be responsible for building bench strength in the organization through the identification, recruitment, and development of top talent. This role is responsible for partnering with the Regional HR Director in driving critical organizational change, cultivating Legends Global unique organizational culture and implementing Legends Global people strategy and initiatives across his/her area of responsibility. This role will manage a team of local venue HR professionals and ensure continued growth and development for his/her direct and indirect reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Follows Legends Global Human Resources policies to assure compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions. Maintains compliance with state regulations concerning employment.
Administers various Human Resources plans and procedures for all facility personnel.
Performs recruitment activities. Writes and places advertisements. Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
Plan and conduct new employee orientations.
Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and 401k, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
Administers correct payroll for employees
Coordinates training or trains Managers in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance management, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. Advises the corporate office of EEOC complaints and other employee relations problems.
Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carriers.
Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends Global policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university
3+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience administering benefit programs.
Workday experience highly preferred
Combination of education and experience may be accepted.
Skills and Abilities
Solid knowledge of principles and practices of HR administration.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are essential.
Professional appearance and attitude are essential.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Workday recruiting experience or equivalent highly preferred including generating job requisitions, background checks, offer letters, onboarding, etc.
HR certification preferred.
Experience working with Excel, Word, and Outlook Microsoft 365, preferred.
Experience with Catering software used in F&B
COMPENSATION
Competitive salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.
