Patient Access Rep— Contract

Location: Fort Worth, TX
Job Type: Full-Time Contract
Work Arrangement: On-Site — Candidates must currently live in the Fort Worth area

A large hospital in Fort Worth is seeking an HHR Patient Coordinator to support patient accounts, referrals, insurance verification, reimbursement, and coordination of durable medical equipment (DME), medications, and supplies.

This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-service-oriented professional with healthcare, clerical, insurance, or medical terminology experience who is comfortable working in a high-volume environment.

Position Responsibilities

• Manage patient accounts to ensure accurate and timely delivery of supplies and services.

• Serve as a primary customer contact for pricing, supply reorders, and shipping.

• Process incoming referrals and coordinate them for delivery of supplies and services.

• Receive and process reimbursement information from patients, physicians, hospitals, and third-party payors.

• Verify insurance coverage and update patient databases.

• Obtain benefit eligibility information and required prior authorizations.

• Submit documentation to Medicaid and managed care organizations (MCOs) for prior authorization.

• Provide records and documentation to billing for insurance claims.

• Maintain knowledge of third-party payor regulations and requirements.

• Monitor the accuracy and integrity of patient information entered into computer systems.

• Prepare daily patient supply tickets for DME, pharmacy medications, and supplies.

• Review and maintain Certificates of Medical Necessity (CMNs).

• Track prior authorizations for patients coming on service.

• Resolve routine product and service issues or escalate them to the appropriate department.

• Track customer complaints and incomplete orders.

• Communicate with internal departments to ensure patient needs and orders are handled efficiently.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or GED.

• At least 1 year of customer service experience.

• 4–6 months of clerical experience.

• Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.

• Ability to multitask in a high-call-volume environment.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to work with confidential patient and insurance information.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of medical terminology.

• Experience in a healthcare, hospital, DME, medical billing, insurance, or reimbursement environment.

• Experience with insurance verification or prior authorizations.
