Managing Director – Market Insights

(WFH – SF, NYC) The Managing Director of Market Insights is responsible for the leadership and evolution of a function that produces world-class, innovative, and digital-centric market insights on the technology, healthcare, and investment industries that differentiate us in market and support the success of our clients. This function works with SVB's proprietary data, subject matter experts (SMEs) and influencers to produce relevant and actionable insights and market-leading thought leadership content. This role sets the vision for Market Insights at SVB and fosters a team of researchers and content creators to distribute world-class research throughout our organization, for target clients and prospects, and to the broader market. They are a key leadership partner to Sales, Marketing, and other strategic parts of the organization who contribute to the broader market expertise of our organization and its lines of business.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement best in class approaches and solutions to deliver thought leadership in market
• Engage with executive stakeholders to set and align on objectives and key results that drive sales and cross-enterprise brand value and translate this into a dynamic strategy for the insights function
• Lead and develop a function comprised of analytics researchers and content creators. This includes: Recruit, manage, foster, develop, and retain a world class team; Set team strategy and tactics and ensure sufficient resourcing and project management support; Continually reinforce standards and benchmarks for data integrity, insights narratives, and content production and delivery
• Evangelize the team's offerings and unique skills/expertise with relevant leaders across the business

Requirements:

• Proficient data analytics experience – Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
• 7-10 years of professional experience with minimum of 3 years at an investment bank, financial services, equity research or similar experience
• Prior experience at a StartUp or with an Investor is highly desirable
• High business acumen - ability to consume data and translate for non-technical leadership to influence direction
• Management or leadership experience - working within data analytics team

Nice to Have's:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related area, required. MBA preferred
• Highly-flexible cross-functional team relations – team will assist across all organizational departments
