As a General Manager, your mission is to challenge, motivate, engage and lead your team to drive operational and budgetary excellence across your Placemakr property. You will embody a people-first mindset and instill accountability, ownership and innovation in every member of your team.As Chief Engineer, you are responsible for driving the overall execution (creation and ongoing ownership) of the engineering excellence of your Placemakr property, including budgetary efficiency, proactive and effective maintenance, supporting competitive growth-oriented pricing, and the experience of everyone onsite – employees, residents, guests, third-party partners, and building ownership/management.To best support your team and the business, this position requires open availability for scheduling including nights, weekends and holidays. The exact hours and days of the week and weekend you are expected to be on-site may be rotational and is at the discretion of you, your direct leader and Placemakr's operational standards.What you'll doStand up your asset's Engineering structure, including the hands-on implementation of all back-end and access systems, programming back of house and storage spaces, establishing a base inventory and timely ordering system, and creation of Maintenance SOPs and Preventative Maintenance planDevelop and execute building-specific engineering reporting, and a skilled and proactive maintenance strategyEnsure the asset is current on required inspections and licensingTake full ownership of onsite Engineering operations, collaborating cross-functionally and within your onsite property teams to develop and implement best practices geared towards optimizing asset health and aesthetics, work order completion and timeliness, and an internal turn process to promote occupancy and retention, and overall resident/guest and team member experienceProvide input for operational and CAPEX budget, adhere to the established budget while maintaining the expected quality of service and asset maintenanceManage vendors' quality of service, compliance with company policies, timely invoice submission and paymentSupport talent acquisition efforts for all engineering roles within your PlacemakrpropertyOversee, support, and train team members on Placemakr's and your SOPs and programsEnsure your property is maintaining a consistently high level of service and meeting Placemakr'sbrand standardsAdditional duties and responsibilities, as assignedWhat it takesA bachelor's degree, preferably in management, business administration, communications, hospitality or a related field; or commensurate experience in lieu of a formal degree3+ years' experience in a leadership role within retail, food & beverage, hospitality, multi-family or similar environment, where customer service is at the heart of the operationA minimum of 1+ years' experience of successful multi-department leadership; retail, food & beverage, multi-family or hospitality-focused experience strongly preferredExperience with executing on team member relationship issues and retention, engagement, succession planning, performance management and/or growth and development initiativesProven track record with scheduling, training and developing non-exempt employees to maintain exceptional service levels and uphold company standardsA demonstrated track record of operational and financial success made possible by a true customer-focus, managing controllable expenses, driving team performance, effective decision-making skills and a solutions-oriented mindsetExceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deliver a message clearly and professionally across varying levels of team members and external partnersA hands-on leader and world-class motivator who takes an active role in growing and developing their teamAbility to manage cross-functional relationships, competing priorities and time and resources proactively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environmentYou lead by example and embody the core values of Placemakr. You Treat People Right.Chief Engineers will be on their feet and moving around (stand, sit, or walk for an extended time) and taking a hands-on approach to work (move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance).
