Travel RN - ICUAmerican TravelerMilwaukee, Wisconsin, United StatesPosition status: OpenAssignment type: travelShift: NightsLength (weeks): 13Openings: 1Start date: 2026-10-19$2,360.00/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU Neurology position requiring 4+ years of critical care experience and NIHSS certification at a Level III Trauma and Comprehensive Stroke Center.DetailsCritical Care ICU Neurology unit with 27 beds and an average daily census of 25 patients.Cares for neurocritical patients including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, seizures, spinal surgeries, and brain mass resections/biopsies.Also supports non-neuro ICU overflow including medical respiratory and general medical ICU patients.Patient ratios of 1:1-2, with 1:3 for mixed acuity assignments.12-hour night shift schedule, 1900-0700, 36 hours per week.Weekend rotation required every other weekend.Holiday coverage required every other holiday.No on-call requirements.Schedule cycle runs in 6-week increments.Floating required to ED Holding, other ICUs (MRICU, SICU, CICU, CVICU), medical-surgical units, sitter assignments, or PACU surge.RequirementsActive WI or Compact RN license required.Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.Minimum 4 years of ICU experience required.Skills required include vent, trach, arterial line, vasopressor and sedation management, and central line blood draws.EPIC EMR experience required.CVVH/CRRT and EVD experience preferred.Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN.Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration.Additional InformationLocated in Milwaukee, WI at a Level III Trauma Center, Magnet-designated, Comprehensive Stroke Center with 933 beds.Supported by CNAs (1:8-10 ratio), Charge RN, Critical Care NPs, 24/7 Intensivist and Hospitalist coverage, RT, phlebotomy, and telemetry monitoring.Unit uses Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, GE monitors, and Medtronic EVDs.Orientation includes NEO and one shift of unit-specific orientation.Strong teamwork culture with a focus on evidence-based nursing practice.Scrubs must be a solid color with no graphics, logos, or designs.Free parking available.Facility adheres to a fatigue policy limiting staff to no more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts.First-time travelers are welcome to apply.Former employees of Advocate Health or its subsidiaries must be separated at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignments.Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions.RTO can be approved for up to 7 days without manager escalation.
