Product Marketing Manager Mental healthcare is at a turning point — and The Sage Group's client is at the center of it. They are building the infrastructure that makes mental healthcare work for patients who need it, providers who deliver it, and a system that's been broken for too long. Product Marketing is the function that translates what they build into market-facing strategies and customer-facing campaigns that earn awareness, trust, and adoption. PMM defines who a product is built for, why they'll care, and what story we tell in the market — and then orchestrates the cross-functional motion that takes that story from strategy to adoption. The moment this role is about By the time someone reaches us, they've usually been carrying something for months. They've talked themselves out of it more than once. Searching for a therapist they've heard – is overwhelming and at times exhausting. And then, on some ordinary Tuesday night, they finally decide to try. That's the moment: someone at the end of their courage, deciding whether to keep going. Ask them for one thing too many, answer the wrong question, leave one fear unaddressed, and they close the tab instead of booking. Get it right and they show up to a first appointment they'll later describe as the experience that turned their life around. Today, X% of patients who search for a provider on our platform book an appointment, and X% of those who book attend a third session and go on to complete their therapy experience with our company. This role is accountable for what a patient reads, feels, and decides at every step of that journey. What you'll be responsible for The patient journey, moment by moment. What a patient believes, fears, and needs at every step from intake to last session — and what has to be true in our products, experiences, and messaging for them to take each one. You'll bring this to Product as evidence with enough rigor to influence roadmap decisions. Deciding where the leverage is. You'll know the funnel inside and out and find the problem space before anyone has written a brief. You know how to zero in on the two or three highest-leverage moments and let the rest wait. Lowering the effort it takes to say yes. Sequencing information within the product experience so it arrives when someone can absorb it, cutting what doesn't earn its place, resolving the question a patient hasn't asked out loud yet. Reducing cognitive burden is a craft, and it's central to this role. Brand moments that surprise people. Grounded in our brand strategy, you'll pursue the very human moments in technology that leave people feeling deeply seen and understood. Go-to-market campaigns. Strategy and execution for our patient audience: what's launching, when, across which channels, with what message. You'll write the messaging frameworks and campaign briefs, and work closely with our brand creative team to bring the work to market. A real test-and-learn engine. A running backlog of hypotheses, a steady cadence of experiments, and honest reads on results — including the ones that didn't work. How we'll know it's working Brand Tracker: More patients agree our company is X Funnel Conversion: Increase intake to book rates and book to X appointment rates Funnel Efficiency: Cost per booked patient Testing Volume: Experiment throughput and win rate What you'll bring 7+ years in product marketing, growth marketing, or brand strategy, including consumer-facing work. You've owned a number, not just a workstream. Genuine customer obsession. You talk to people, sit with support calls, read the reviews nobody wants to read, and can describe a customer's state of mind at a specific step without reaching for a persona doc. Test & Learn Mindset. You can run an interview and read a funnel, you think in hypotheses, you design tests that can actually be wrong, and you know which signal to trust when they disagree. You're more interested in what surprised you than in being right. Strong strategic writing — briefs, frameworks, narratives — and the judgment to give a copywriter direction without doing their job for them. Creativity amongst constraints: mental health, healthcare, insurance, financial services, pharma, or similar. You treat compliance as a design constraint to work within, not an obstacle to route around. Points of view you'll advocate for, held firmly enough to disagree with senior stakeholders and loosely enough to update when the evidence says otherwise. You'd rather help shape an unfinished scope than wait for it to be handed to you. Fluent, judicious use of AI in your own workflow — research synthesis, variant generation, testing at volume — with a clear sense of where human judgment is still required.
