Christel House DORS helps adults of all ages earn their Indiana Core 40 high school diploma. But DORS is more than that – it's a chance for adult students to receive the extra support they need to ensure their personal development as well as their academic success. We understand the challenges our adult students face, and we offer resources to help our students overcome these obstacles.

Christel House Indianapolis is currently seeking a full-time Instructional Assistant at DORS Central.

Days of Service: 202 Days

Job Tasks:

• Assist students with assignments that reinforce learning concepts.
• Monitor individual and/or groups of students for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
• Maintain a record of interventions and progress monitoring.
• Provide're-teaching' and tutoring sessions around core instruction that was delivered by the classroom teacher.
• Implement, under the supervision of the teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
• Attend meetings and in-service presentations for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
• Other duties assigned.

Requirements:

• Two years of college with some training/exposure to education OR network equivalent
• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively; maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Competency in using technology
• Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
• Bilingual preferred
• An agreement with the mission statement and goals of Christel House Schools.

• At least three (3) professional references (References should include candidates supervisor in his/her current position and most recent prior position, or student teaching supervisors)
