MD/OD practice looking for a Spanish speaking Optometrist to join their progressive, interdisciplinary team. As an optometrist you’ll have the unique opportunity to practice in a team-based environment that is integrated with primary care. Practice is fully equipped with Topcon OCTs and Humphrey Visual Fields. The Optometrist will perform full‑scope routine and medical eye care to the diverse patient population. Responsibilities Examine, diagnose, treat, and manage eye disorders, diseases, and injuries that manifest in the eye. Prescribe medications, eyeglasses, and contact lenses as appropriate. Maintain a high quality of care in both basic and advanced eye care services across all phases of optometry, for patients of all ages. Deliver treatment plans to patients with informed consent discussions surrounding treatment options, risks, benefits, and alternatives. Make appropriate referrals and communicate with specialists. Provide and explain patient education materials. Follow a comprehensive program of preventive eye care. Ensure correct coding and accurate patient records to facilitate billing and demonstrate medical necessity and quality of care. Monitor patient scheduling to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Assist in leading and supervising support staff. Share information obtained in seminars and educational programs. Follow standards of care and quality assurance program guidelines, and work collaboratively to achieve clinic goals. Comply with all applicable state and federal regulations. Ensure patient confidentiality consistent with state and federal law. Attend and participate actively in required meetings, training, and functions. Maintain a positive relationship with practitioners in the community. Communicate with optical laboratories and other outside vendors as needed. Support the department with achieving budget goals and maintain a cost‑conscious approach when requesting materials, supplies, and equipment.
