Director of Talent Identification: Women’s Youth National Teams

Position Overview U.S. Soccer is recruiting a Director of Talent Identification: Women’s Youth National Teams. The role involves creating and overseeing a comprehensive Talent ID plan, leading a women’s Talent ID staff, guiding Regional Managers, and cultivating an inclusive culture that supports the development of future women’s national team stars. Primary Responsibilities Commits to the vision, mission, strategy and policies of U.S. Soccer Leads a world‑class women’s Talent ID staff and the overall strategic plan and programs Supports the personal and professional development of Talent ID Regional Managers through feedback and development plans Oversees a systematic scouting pathway to identify, monitor and recommend players, expanding the girl’s and women’s national team pool Applies U.S. Soccer Talent Identification philosophy and framework Monitors the evolution of the women’s national and international landscape, overseeing all strategic components of Women’s Talent ID from a female perspective Leads a collaborative, holistic decision‑making process for all TID and YNT camps Collaborates with WNT Assistant Coach/Player Scout Manager on pathway planning and transition of YNT high potentials to the senior national team Builds relationships with all sporting departments and creates connections with Youth National Teams, High Performance, and Analytics for an interdisciplinary approach Collaborates with TID Operations Manager and Head of Talent ID on program evaluation, trend identification, data analysis, and strategy refinement for a scaled regional model and budget planning Contributes to sporting initiatives and provides TID expertise for U.S. Way projects: Key Qualities, Position Profiles, Dual and Multiple Nationals, Post‑Camp Player Assessment Communicates and collaborates with members and leaders to support a unified Talent ID strategy Supports Coaching Education and Talent ID Education Lead with a specialized education pathway Aligned Women’s Youth National Teams Scouting Pathway Builds professional relationships between Talent ID Managers and Women’s Youth (and senior) National Teams Assigns managers to specific age group cycles as player scouting leads Oversees TID/YNT Player Pathway requirements and Depth Chart mechanisms Assures quality and compliance for player selection processes, methods, and roles Facilitates age‑group hand‑off meetings and player selection audits Conducts formal player benchmarking reports post major tournaments (Concacaf, World Cup) Attends key days at YNT age‑group camps to support assessment processes and gain knowledge of current player pool Participates in weekly TID/YNT age‑group Zoom meetings to coach managers on pre/post camp monitoring and player selection Oversees Dual and Multiple Nationals program for W‑YNT Supports communication with clubs on calendar, visits, player call‑ups and releases Scaled Regional Structure & YNT Scouting Network Applies data‑driven approach to regional scaling model expansion Empowers Talent ID Managers to build and manage a diverse network of independent/part‑time YNT Scouts in designated markets Makes final approval for hiring new YNT Network Scouts Monitors TID Manager regional scouting activity and club visits per strategy and plan, with TID Operations support Ensures quality control within the YNT Scouting Network and collaborates with Education Leads for mentoring YNT scouts Leads strategic decisions on assigning managers and scouts to key events and tournaments within the scouting calendar Communicates with members to develop their own Talent ID programs Talent Identification Programs (Local, Regional, and National) Oversees all aspects of local Talent ID Centers, Regional Mini‑Camps, and National TID Programs Ensures uniformity and technical consistency with all guidelines, protocols, and procedures across all TID Centers, Mini‑Camps, and National Camps Supervises Talent ID Managers in execution, attending regional mini‑camps and key TID Centers Leads National TID Camp in collaboration with U‑15 YNT Coach Player Monitoring Systems (Technology and Digital Platforms) Oversees development and application of a aligned platform with tools, templates, and mechanisms for continuous player and scout monitoring Applies quantitative and qualitative scouting methods Collaborates with analysts, managers, and coaches to build and maintain a video resource library across all age groups and international role models Requirements – Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher U.S. Soccer A License (or UEFA A License) Leadership and relationship‑building experience in club or Federation environment Minimum 5 years applied experience in Talent Identification Expert knowledge of talent identification theory, systems, and practice (domestic and international) Knowledge of the domestic soccer landscape and player pathways Critical thinking and problem‑solving ability Excellent written and verbal communication and professional demeanor Construction of cooperative working relationships with key leaders and stakeholders across the ecosystem Effective planner with exceptional time‑management skills and ability to prioritize workflow Capability to work in fast‑paced and demanding environments Ability to connect micro details to a macro vision and mission Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) Willingness to travel and work non‑traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed Desired Qualifications Passion for soccer Master’s degree Bilingual (English and Spanish) U.S. Soccer Talent Scout License or international equivalent Proficient with data, video editing, and scout technology platforms (Opta, Hudl, Sportscode, Wyscout, etc.) In‑depth knowledge of U.S. Soccer mission, goals, technical plan, policies, practices, and procedures Previous experience with a club or
