Personal Trainer / Coach

TNT Strong is one of Southern Maryland's premier fitness facilities: 20,000+ sq ft, 24/7 gym access, personal training, semi-private strength coaching, group training, nutrition coaching, and recovery amenities including saunas and showers. We have coaches and leaders who have been with us five or more years because we invest in development, leadership, systems and culture.

Do not apply if you just want a side hustle, dislike teamwork, do not care about client results, avoid accountability, or are not willing to learn.

REQUIREMENTS

Active CPR/AED certification. Approved personal training certification completed, or exam scheduled within 90 days of hire. Strong communication skills. Genuine passion for coaching and helping people. Willingness to learn the TNT Strong systems and standards.

SCHEDULE

This is a full-time coaching position, not a few-hours-a-week side job. A minimum of 30 hours per week is required. Peak client demand is weekday mornings 5:00 AM to 11:00 AM, weekday evenings 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and occasional weekends, and you should be available during those windows.

HOW PAY WORKS

Earnings of $42,000 to $72,000 per year, driven by your trainer level and the sessions you coach. Session pay by level: Level 1 Associate Trainer earns $30 per private session and $15 per eligible client in semi-private. Level 2 Trainer earns $35 per private session and $20 per eligible client. Level 3 Senior Trainer earns $40 per private session and $25 per eligible client. Semi-private is where your hourly earnings grow. A Level 2 trainer coaching four eligible clients in one semi-private session earns $80 for that hour. As your private schedule fills, we move clients into semi-private so you can open more slots and coach more people in the same hour rather than capping out. Levels advance on a quarterly scorecard covering training quality and safety, client retention and experience, reliability and professionalism, documentation, and leadership contribution. The Training Department Manager reviews trainers quarterly and recommends level changes; ownership gives final approval. Required meetings, training, programming, cleaning and administrative duties are tracked and paid separately from session pay.

BENEFITS AND OTHER COMPENSATION

Employees who average at least 35 hours per week become eligible for TNT Strong company-sponsored benefits after a 90-day introductory period: paid vacation starting at 10 days per year, increasing to 12 days at 2 years and 15 days at 4+ years; 40 hours of company-paid sick leave per benefit year; 16 hours of paid personal leave per benefit year; and six paid eight-hour holiday credits for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. All employees receive Maryland Earned Sick and Safe Leave as required by law. Complimentary employee gym access and complimentary childcare are available during eligible periods, subject to facility rules, capacity and program terms. TNT Strong does not currently sponsor a group health insurance plan.
