Behavior Technician – Hawthorne School District (2026–2027 School Year) School-Based | Full-Time | Weekly Pay | Pay Negotiable Based on Experience Role Overview Hawthorne School District is seeking committed Behavior Technicians to support students with behavioral, social, and academic needs throughout the school day. This school-based position is ideal for individuals interested in ABA support , special education, or building a long-term career in behavioral health or education. You will work directly with students, collaborate with teachers and district staff, and help create a structured, positive learning environment for the 2026–2027 academic year. Key Responsibilities Behavior intervention — Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a BCBA or supervising clinician. Student engagement — Support students in staying on task, participating in class, and developing independence. Behavior data collection — Accurately record student behavior, progress, and skill acquisition throughout the day. Classroom collaboration — Partner with teachers, aides, and school staff to maintain consistency across settings. Crisis prevention — Use de-escalation strategies and follow district safety protocols when challenging behaviors arise. IEP implementation — Support accommodations, behavior goals, and student-specific plans. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working with children or individuals with behavioral needs preferred. Strong communication, patience, and professionalism. Ability to follow structured behavior plans and collect accurate data. Reliability and consistency in a school-based environment.
