GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Performs senior-level system administration and development in the agency’s SharePoint environment. Ensures platform reliability, performance, security, and usability for effective collaboration and information sharing. Designs, develops, and implements custom SharePoint, Power Automate, and Power App solutions to meet business needs. Work under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for developing and customizing the agency's SharePoint and Power Platform to meet business requirements. Engage with stakeholders to collect requirements and create tailored SharePoint solutions that align with business objectives. Customize SharePoint sites for improved usability and branding. Support site owners with configuration and best practices. Use the SharePoint migration tool to transfer file shares. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for SharePoint-related issues. Train end-users and create documentation for best practices. Develop custom SharePoint solutions utilizing SPFx, Power Automate, and Power Apps. Connect SharePoint with other enterprise applications, such as Microsoft Teams, Dynamics 365, and third-party APIs. Performs related work as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in computer science, computer information systems, or management information systems is generally preferred. Education and experience may be substituted for one another. 5+ years SharePoint experience required. 2+ years as a SharePoint Developer. Demonstrated experience in administering Microsoft SharePoint 2010, and SharePoint Online through Office 365. Proven experience in Microsoft cloud environments, including SharePoint, Power Automate, PowerBI, PowerApps, and Dynamic365. Skilled in using the SharePoint migration tool to move content from on-premise environments to the cloud. Proficient in Visual Studio.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

7+ years SharePoint experience required. 4+ years as a SharePoint Developer. Automation experience with Power App, and PowerBI reporting. Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Administrator or Developer. Experience with Azure Active Directory and cloud integrations. Experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions. Ability to identify and resolve systems and network issues. Effective communication skills with clients/customers to gather information and explain policies and procedures. Proficiency in producing high-level correspondence, reports, documents, policies, procedures, and training/instructional manuals. Highly self-driven and capable of working independently. Capable of multitasking and effectively communicating with technical and non-technical staff. Attention to detail and accuracy.

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Regular and punctual attendance Monday – Friday. Must respond to internal and external communications in a timely manner: within 72 hours of external communications; within 24 hours of internal communications. Supported time: Within 15 minutes while working remotely during business hours if contacted by your Manager, unless you are on a pre-approved leave or a recognized break. Frequent use of personal computers, copiers, printers, and telephones. Frequent sitting. Frequently working under deadlines as a team member, in direct contact with others. Compliance with all agency policies and procedures, including confidentiality, security and safety rules, regulations and standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR WORKING CONDITIONS

The principal job is performed in a standard office and requires frequent use of keyboard, mouse, and other input devices. Ability to participate in video calls, phone calls, and virtual meetings. May experience frequent working under deadlines, individually or as a team member, and at times may collaborate with others to meet deadlines. Low physical demands; occasional lifting up to certain weight (e.g., 10-40 lbs.).

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

In accordance with state law, authorization for telework may not be awarded to an employee as a condition of hiring. TMB will conduct a TXDPS criminal history check on all new hires due to access to confidential or sensitive data while performing the work of the position applied for. Cannot hold outside employment that interferes with assigned work schedule, nor does it constitute a conflict of interest with TMB employment and services. Must reside in Texas. Dual employment at another state agency or Texas public university is not permitted. If hired, you must provide documentation within three days of hire that establishes identity and employment verification. Employees assigned to agency-issued devices (e.g., laptops, cell phones) are expected to use these devices exclusively for work-related duties.
