Job Description
As a Rhino Designer, you will be responsible for developing drawings and documentation throughout the project's lifecycle, from Design to Engineering, and ensuring a seamless transition into Production. You will be a key player in the successful implementation of projects, maintaining shared ownership from assignment through to installation. Your role will involve effective communication with the Design Manager to manage schedules and project timelines efficiently.
Responsibilities

• Verify product layout and usage, ensuring accuracy by communicating with various project and process leads.
• Develop custom design solutions and products for bespoke and boutique projects in collaboration with the Design Manager.
• Engage in client meetings to discuss feedback and maintain product requirements.
• Package complete product specifications for Design, Engineering, and Production.
• Contribute to internal product development or special projects, working closely with project or process leads.
• Ensure accuracy and organization in digital housekeeping of project files and documentation.
• Maintain a physical presence and provide assistance on the Production and Assembly floor as scheduled.

Essential Skills

• Technical and design work experience at a commercial-based architecture firm.
• Experience producing 3D drawings in Rhino.
• Proficiency in reflective ceiling plan, floor plan, rendering, AutoCAD, Grasshopper, schematic design, drafting, interior architecture, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, architectural design, fabrication, CNC, digital fabrication, and Dynamo.
• 3-4 years of professional experience.
• Degree in Architecture (Bachelor or Master).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Exposure to Rhino in a professional setting.
• Experience with CNC, millwork, or roles focused on tangible product production.
• Exposure to trades, construction, and communication with General Contractors.
• Grasshopper software experience is a plus.

Work Environment
This position requires working in-office from 8:30/9:00am to 5/5:30pm, with the potential for remote work on Fridays, subject to HR approval. The office is located in the beautiful Merch Mart, attached to a showroom, and houses a close-knit design team of about 20 members. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.37 - $38.46/hr.
