Civil Engineer

Design Alaska is a multi-disciplinary architectural, engineering, and land surveying firm based in Fairbanks, Alaska, dedicated to creating spaces that strengthen our communities. Civil Engineer Duties Typically Include Potential site investigations including existing vegetation, soils, utilities, and road access. Interpretation of geotechnical data for analysis of ground improvement solutions appropriate to the project. Design of minor roadways and access drives, building sites, parking lot layout, and pedestrian access. Design of storm water management, drinking water supply, wastewater, solid waste, and hazardous material impact on design. Preparation of project narratives and written analyses of proposed design solutions. Estimation of construction costs, review of construction project submittals and progress inspections. Occasional in-state travel is required for site visits. Desirable Attributes Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering. Professional Licensed Civil Engineer (not required). Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Currently living in Alaska. Construction industry related work experience.
