Cash Office Associate

Location Address: 9801 Courthouse Road ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for accounting bookwork practices at the store, including reconciliation and recording of drawers, balancing office cash, lottery, and stamps. Assists in research and investigation of any discrepancies, and keeps management fully informed. Prepares bank deposits or assists with their preparation, ensuring timely and accurate completion. Smiles and greets customers, answers questions, and helps resolve concerns promptly, in a polite and professional manner. Follows company policies relating to customer check‑out to increase satisfaction. Assists customer service with answering phone calls with a polite and positive attitude. Uses intercom for necessary announcements or pages. Monitors performance of cashiers and lot attendants, providing feedback to management. Follows and enforces all front‑end policies and procedures. Participates in training or retraining of front‑end associates to ensure high productivity, speed, accuracy, and customer courtesy. Assists in enforcing and adhering to company policies, procedures, government regulations, and laws. Operates front‑end scanning equipment and register, performing all related check‑out procedures including proper bagging and efficient merchandise placement, ensuring accurate charging of all items. Maintains accuracy during transactions, ensuring appropriate funds are collected (cash, checks, electronic payment, coupons). Maintains proper security measures and cash drawer accounting procedures to avoid overages and shortages. Follows all store and legal guidelines regarding sale of tobacco and alcohol. Maintains knowledge of weekly ads, marketing promotions, and store layout to answer customer questions. Responsible for general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and departmental guidelines, disposing of trash properly, and ensuring work areas meet health and OSHA requirements. Ensures smooth operation of department and store by cooperating with co‑workers and superiors. Continuously improves job performance. Utilizes all company‑provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including cut‑resistant gloves, safety cutters, company‑sponsored footwear, etc. May assist in other departments as needed. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or GED, completed or working toward. No prior experience required. Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without accommodation. RATE OF PAY AND BENEFITS The hourly rate for this position starts at $12.77 and ranges up to $20.00.
