Sanitation Technician - 2nd Shift

Sanitation TechnicianFollows procedures and SOPs to perform cleaning on production equipment to ensure safety and hygiene. May record information to reflect sanitation activities and issues. Advises/updates supervisor/manager of progress and or other non-routine issues.Job Duties May Include, But Are Not Limited To The Following:Disassemble and reassemble critical equipment and pumpsUnderstand equipment instructions, manuals, specifications, and safety requirementsRead instruments and record all required dataMaintain cleanliness of all work areasRemove trash and debrisFollows established procedures in the cleaning and sanitation of idle production equipment.Wet washes rooms and production lines.Completes required reporting to reflect activity.Advises supervisor when supplies need to be ordered.Additional duties as assignedClean and sanitize the following areas:Mixing roomProduction areasPackaging areasWalls and ceilingsAll equipment including elevated conveyorsExterior plant area as neededPerform food safety and quality testing including:Titration levelsAPC SwabsAllergen testingLRN SwabsAfter training, safely operate:COP TubFloor scrubberPallet JacksBoom liftScissor liftRequired Competencies & KnowledgeSkills:Must be a self-starterBasic math skills to calculate and measure cleansers/sanitizersSufficient English reading and writing skills in order to understand equipment instructions, standard operating procedures, and activity documentation.Good verbal and written communication skillsGood organizational skillsAbility To:Prioritize work schedulesMust understand and follow all safety policies and procedures. This includes the ability to communicate and take direction from the Sanitation Group Lead and/or Sanitation SupervisorWork in a team environmentLearn new tasks and methods of workingBe on time and fully engaged at every shift you are scheduledWork in a fast-paced environmentWork EnvironmentWork is primarily done in a production environment.Frequent production environment exposure includes noise, dust, dampness, moving machinery, fork lifts, and fluctuations in temperature and humidity.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift 50 lbs. unassistedAbility to lift excess of 50 lbs. up to 100 lbs. with assistanceAbility to stand and walk up to 90% of the timeAbility to climb, including on stairsAbility to work in hot, wet, and/or tight spacesCrawling and working on knees and ladders is requiredAbility to work at heights without disorientationOccasionally move up to 45-50 pounds with a hoist, pallet-jack or cart, and regularly lift up to 15 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.At least six months experience in a sanitation production environment preferred.Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position. It is the candidate's responsibility to ensure they are legally authorized to work in the location to which they apply.Starting Pay: Sanitation Technician $17.80/hr., a shift differential is offered for 2nd Shift opportunities. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive based on company and individual performance.
