Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician with IV training and competence to join a dynamic hospital pharmacy team. This role involves preparing and delivering medications, managing sterile compounding, and supporting pharmacy operations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform medication distribution tasks, including picking and delivering medications to Pyxis machines.
• Assist in IV sterile compounding, utilizing laminar flow hoods and glove boxes, with a willingness to learn advanced techniques.
• Manage medication inventory by verifying outdates, returning medications to stock, and restocking delivery orders.
• Support pharmacy operations by answering phones, prepacking medications, and logging activities in Meditech Expanse.
• Conduct station inspections and maintain compliance with unit policies, including emptying return bins and checking medication expiration dates.
• Collaborate with a team of experienced staff, contributing to a positive work environment and participating in department initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid NH state pharmacy technician license and national certification.
• Demonstrate at least 2 years of basic pharmacy technician experience, including medication filling and device management.
• Possess solid computer skills, familiarity with Meditech Expanse, and basic knowledge of Pyxis systems.
• Exhibit strong communication skills to coordinate with nursing and pharmacy staff effectively.
• Be adaptable to a fast-paced environment with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
• Willing to learn IV sterile compounding, with prior IV training preferred.
