This 273-bed facility operates as a Level IV trauma center providing comprehensive surgical services with modern equipment and established protocols for general surgery procedures. The hospital maintains dedicated operating rooms and utilizes the EPIC EMR system for patient documentation and care coordination. The facility focuses on delivering quality surgical care with appropriate resources for both routine and emergency surgical interventions.

Kentucky offers diverse attractions ranging from natural formations like the Red River Gorge and Louisville Mega Cavern to equestrian experiences at the Kentucky Horse Park and Churchill Downs. Visitors can explore state parks, take river cruises along the Ohio River, and participate in various cultural events including arts exhibits and heritage celebrations. The region features both underground cave systems and outdoor recreational opportunities, with walking recommended for accessing many of the area's notable attractions.

The clinician will provide comprehensive general surgery services with day shift coverage Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM including operating room procedures and inpatient rounding responsibilities. Primary duties include performing general surgery cases such as hernias, gallbladder procedures, and endoscopic procedures with 1.5 hours of rounding per shift. The position requires maintaining accurate documentation through the EPIC EMR system and managing 20 shifts per month at this 273-bed Level IV trauma facility. Board certification in General Surgery and BLS certification are mandatory requirements along with an active Kentucky license for this assignment.
