\n
• Serve as Chair of the Department of Neurology, overseeing all aspects of department strategic planning, growth, and operations
\n
• Lead the development and enhancement of departmental clinical and educational activities in accordance with the facility's mission and vision
\n
• Supervise all professional activities and clinical staff within the Department and its subspecialty divisions
\n
• Appoint departmental members to committees, establish and coordinate faculty and staff development, and periodically evaluate faculty and staff
\n
• Oversee all faculty appointments, reappointments, and promotions according to Medical Staff By-Laws
\n
• Ensure professional performance of all practitioners with clinical privileges in the Department
\n
• Collaborate with administrative and nursing leadership to build a team-based clinical environment
\n
• Develop hospital-focused quality metrics and maintain outreach to EMS services
\n
• Promote and support academic teaching and clinical research opportunities
\n
• Clinical responsibility includes 60% clinical coverage comprising inpatient and/or outpatient clinic coverage depending on specialty
\n
• Reports directly to the Vice President of Medical Affairs and the Co-Physician-in-Chief of the Neuroscience Institute
\n
• Medical Degree from an accredited University required
\n
• Board certification in Neurology required
\n
• 5+ years of clinical experience required
\n
• Leadership experience preferred but not required
\n
• Active CT license or eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Connecticut required
\n
• Strong work ethic with the ability to collaborate, innovate, and thrive in a constantly evolving environment
