Senior Software Engineer - Study Lifecycle Tooling - Evinova

Evinova, an AstraZeneca health-tech business, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and maintain backend services and APIs supporting clinical trial configuration and digital study experiences. The role combines backend development with cross-functional collaboration across distributed teams, requiring ownership of technical outcomes and contributions to platform reliability and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for study configuration and deployment workflows
• Own significant technical features and services from design through implementation, testing, and production support
• Collaborate across distributed teams to solve complex problems and document decisions for asynchronous coordination
• Build quality and security into software through clean code, automated testing, and secure design practices
• Mentor colleagues, reduce technical debt, and establish reusable engineering patterns and standards

Requirements

• Five or more years of professional software engineering experience with substantial backend development
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, REST APIs, and data modeling
• Experience designing scalable, observable, and resilient backend systems
• Demonstrated ability to own technical features from design through deployment
• Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences in distributed environments
• Sound engineering judgment and ability to balance delivery with long-term platform health
