Project Engineer

Project EngineerKievit Power Delivery is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to support some of the nation's largest utility-scale transmission, distribution, and substation construction projects. This position plays a critical role in planning, coordinating, and executing complex power delivery projects while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives are achieved. The Project Engineer serves as a key link between the field and office, supporting project management teams, superintendents, subcontractors, clients, and engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.ResponsibilitiesAssist with planning, coordination, and execution of transmission, distribution, and substation construction projects.Support project managers and superintendents with daily project operations.Track project budgets, quantities, productivity, and cost performance.Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure project milestones are achieved.Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documents.Develop and maintain project schedules and work plans.Support material procurement, equipment tracking, and vendor coordination.Monitor subcontractor performance and compliance with project requirements.Participate in client meetings and provide project status updates.Ensure compliance with Kiewit's safety standards and all applicable regulations.Support quality control initiatives and project closeout activities.Travel and support projects throughout the United States as needed.QualificationsBachelor's degree in: Civil Engineering Construction Management Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Industrial Engineering Related construction or engineering discipline 0–5+ years of construction, utility, or infrastructure project experience. Experience supporting transmission, distribution, substation, renewable energy, or heavy civil projects is preferred. Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, budgeting, and project controls. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Willingness to relocate and travel based on project needs.Preferred QualificationsUtility-scale transmission line experience. Knowledge of substation construction and electrical infrastructure. Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, SAP, or similar project management software. Internships or co-op experience in construction, power, or utility industries. OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or equivalent safety training. EIT certification or progress toward professional licensure is a plus.There's no limit to what you'll do at Kiewit.
