Maintenance Technician

Job Duties

(4) Maintenance Technician: Temporary, Full Time. Average work week is 45 hours per week, 5 days on and 2 days off, 9-hour Night Shifts. Work week and shift start times are variable, Monday through Sunday. Shifts start between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM at $21.21/hr. Additional hours/days may be available based upon company needs. All work over 40 hours/week will be paid at an overtime rate of $31.82/hr. Hours over 45/week must be approved by employer in advance. Employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. The employer will make all deductions from worker's paycheck required by law. Wages will be paid bi-weekly. Employment period October 1, 2026, to May 1, 2027. The area of intended employment is 43994 Business Hwy 2, East Grand Forks, MN 56721. Optional furnished housing, utilities, and if available shuttle/van transportation from housing location to dispatch location, offered on a limited first-come first-served basis at a cost of $25.00 per day, which will be deducted from bi-weekly paycheck.

Aide seasoned mechanics in the lesser duties associated with the maintenance and repair of vehicles. Assist mechanics to diagnose, examine, test, adjust and repair various commercial vehicles and equipment such as, pick-up trucks, heavy tractor-trailer combinations, trucks with the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) over 26,001 pounds, loaders, trailers and other related machinery and equipment as required. Hold or supply tools and parts for higher skilled workers. Position vehicles and other objects such as tools, diagnostic equipment, supplies, etc., as necessary. Daily functions may include inspecting vehicles, machinery and equipment to ensure fully functional; Cleaning and lubricating vehicles and other equipment and tools; Keeping the maintenance area clear and safe by ensuring all diagnostic equipment, supplies, tools, large and small maintenance equipment, fluids, and supplies are stored and positioned as needed. Must pass background check and drug testing. Minimum 6 months Automotive Maintenance Technician experience and Driver’s License. are required. No OJT.

If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts.

Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees). The employer will provide workers at no charge with all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
