Senior Java Developer

Senior Java DeveloperWe are seeking a Senior Java Developer with hands-on AI development experience to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. The ideal candidate will have strong Java development expertise combined with practical experience designing, developing, and deploying modern AI solutions.This role is highly hands-on and requires someone who can actively contribute to AI initiatives, agentic systems, cloud architecture, and production implementations. The successful candidate will work across AWS and on-premises environments to develop scalable AI solutions and help guide development teams on modern AI engineering practices.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and implement scalable AI solutions using Java and modern AI technologies.Actively contribute to the development and implementation of production AI systems; this is not a purely architectural/design role.Design and implement AI solutions using agentic patterns and core AI components.Develop and deploy agent-based and multi-agent architectures.Build orchestration frameworks and integrate AI agents with enterprise tools and services.Design and develop scalable solutions across AWS and on-premises environments.Integrate LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, retrieval systems, and other AI components into production applications.Implement Model Context Protocol (MCP) solutions in both cloud and on-premises environments.Move AI solutions from development and proof-of-concept environments into reliable production deployments.Develop APIs, services, and integrations supporting AI-enabled applications.Evaluate emerging AI technologies, frameworks, tools, and architectural patterns and determine their applicability to enterprise solutions.Mentor and guide development teams on AI engineering best practices, development standards, and production implementation.Collaborate with architects, developers, data engineers, and other technical stakeholders to deliver enterprise AI solutions.Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance AI applications for scalability, reliability, performance, and maintainability.Required QualificationsStrong hands-on experience with Java development in enterprise environments.Demonstrated hands-on experience developing and implementing AI/ML solutions.Experience building or deploying agentic systems/agent-based architectures.Strong understanding of multi-agent systems, agent orchestration, and tool integration.Experience with LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, retrieval systems, and prompt engineering.Hands-on experience with AWS AI/ML services, such as:Amazon EC2AWS LambdaAmazon SageMakerEquivalent AWS AI/ML servicesExperience implementing Model Context Protocol (MCP) in cloud and/or on-premises environments.Experience taking AI solutions from development through production deployment.Strong understanding of cloud architecture and scalable application development.Ability to write production-quality code and contribute directly to development efforts.Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience with hybrid cloud architecture, particularly AWS and on-premises environments.Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.Experience developing CI/CD pipelines for AI/ML workloads.Experience with AI/ML frameworks and emerging agentic AI technologies.Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise applications, APIs, and business systems.
