Position Overview

The Contract Management Consultant supports the Engineering Consultant Section of Arizona Department of Transportation by managing, reviewing, and monitoring contract-related financial and administrative activities. This role ensures compliance with contractual terms, accounting standards (GAAP), and state procurement guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and manage construction-related contracts and associated documentation
• Ensure compliance with contract terms and accounting standards (GAAP)
• Review, validate, and reconcile accounting transactions
• Approve accounts payable transactions based on contract requirements
• Review invoices, payment reports, and financial documentation
• Support budgeting, expenditures tracking, and financial reporting activities
• Maintain accurate records and support audit/compliance readiness
• Use Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Workspace, and Adobe tools for documentation and reporting
• Organize, prioritize, and manage multiple contract-related work assignments

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Experience with construction contracts or contract management
• Experience reviewing and approving invoices or payment reports
• Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
• Understanding of budgets, expenditures, and financial tracking
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Adobe Acrobat, and Google Workspace
• Strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
