Dean, College of Nursing About the Company Leading research & academic institution for healthcare practitioners Industry Higher Education Type Educational Institution Employees 501-1000 About the Role The Company is seeking a Dean for its College of Nursing, a pivotal role at the intersection of academic nursing, an integrated academic health system, and national policy. The successful candidate will be a bold, visionary leader with the intellectual range, strategic clarity, and national stature to elevate nursing education, expand research and innovation, and strengthen the College's influence in the future of healthcare. This leadership position demands a candidate energized by the possibility of impact, ready to lead at an institution celebrated for excellence and discovery, and committed to improving health outcomes. The Dean will be responsible for shaping the national and international discourse on emerging issues in the nursing profession, leading the growth of the College's research enterprise, and enhancing the student experience across master's and doctoral programs. The Dean will also be tasked with deepening integration with the Department of Nursing and the Department of Academic Practice Nursing, driving interprofessional collaboration, and serving as a strong advocate for the College. A critical part of the role is to ensure long-term institutional vitality by strengthening faculty pipelines, mentoring emerging leaders, and building the necessary structures for sustained programmatic and organizational continuity. The ideal candidate will have an earned doctorate in nursing or a related field, Illinois RN licensure or the ability to obtain it, a distinguished scholarly record, and a proven track record in securing external research funding. Excellence in teaching, a strong history of progressive leadership in academic nursing, and a commitment to the values of the institution are essential.
