The Regional General Manager is responsible for leading the overall operations, financial performance, guest experience, and team culture of the Puttery The Colony venue while providing regular operational leadership and support to the Houston venue.
This role serves as the primary General Manager for The Colony and a regional business partner to Houston leadership: driving consistency, developing talent, sharing best practices, supporting performance improvement, and helping both venues achieve revenue, service, cost, and people goals.
Responsibilities
Venue Leadership: The Colony
- Serve as the primary General Manager for Puttery The Colony, with full accountability for daily operations, financial performance, guest satisfaction, team engagement, and venue culture.
- Lead all departments to ensure consistent execution of service, food and beverage, entertainment, safety, cleanliness, and brand standards.
- Maintain a visible, hands-on leadership presence during high-volume shifts, special events, weekends, and peak business periods.
- Review daily sales, labor, guest feedback, operational reporting, and staffing needs; make timely adjustments to support venue performance.
- Ensure managers are actively leading their teams, resolving guest concerns, maintaining standards, and communicating business priorities.
- Build strong local community relationships and identify partnerships, events, and sales opportunities that increase venue awareness and revenue.
Regional Support: Houston
- Travel regularly to the Houston venue to provide operational support, leadership coaching, and performance oversight based on business needs.
- Partner with Houston venue leadership to review financial performance, guest experience metrics, labor, staffing, sales opportunities, and operational challenges.
- Help develop and execute action plans when performance, service, staffing, cost control, compliance, or culture needs improvement.
- Provide onsite leadership support during high-volume periods, major events, leadership transitions, openings, training needs, or other critical business situations.
- Share successful practices, processes, and operational standards between The Colony and Houston to strengthen consistency across the region.
- Support Houston leadership in developing managers, building accountability, and maintaining a strong succession pipeline.
- Escalate significant operational, people, compliance, or financial concerns to the Regional Director of Operations as appropriate.
Financial and Operational Performance
- Develop, manage, and monitor venue budgets, forecasts, labor plans, and financial results.
- Analyze sales, revenue, labor, inventory, purchasing, waste, and controllable expenses to identify trends and improve profitability.
- Implement tactical initiatives to increase revenue, reduce unnecessary costs, prevent losses, and improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure proper cash handling, banking, invoice approval, inventory controls, and accounting procedures are consistently followed.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Events teams to identify local revenue opportunities, promote special events, and grow private-event business.
- Use operational and financial data to make informed decisions and communicate performance expectations to venue leadership teams.
People Leadership and Culture
- Recruit, hire, onboard, train, coach, and retain high-performing managers and team members.
- Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, recognize strong performance, and address performance concerns promptly and fairly.
- Develop managers through hands-on coaching, training plans, stretch assignments, and succession planning.
- Promote a respectful, accountable, inclusive, and guest-focused culture across both venues.
- Maintain awareness of employee relations, HR, safety, and compliance concerns; partner with Human Resources and leadership to address matters appropriately.
- Ensure all team members complete required training and understand company policies, procedures, and performance expectations.
Guest Experience and Brand Standards
- Ensure both venues consistently provide exceptional hospitality, engaging entertainment, and memorable guest experiences.
- Monitor guest feedback and service recovery trends; coach teams on how to resolve concerns professionally and promptly.
- Maintain high standards for cleanliness, food quality, beverage execution, service timing, facility appearance, and course readiness.
- Ensure special events, group reservations, and high-profile guest experiences are executed smoothly and aligned with Puttery standards.
- Act as a brand ambassador in the local community and support initiatives that strengthen Puttery's reputation.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience in high-volume restaurant, hotel, nightlife, leisure entertainment, or hospitality operations.
- Prior experience as a General Manager overseeing a high-volume venue with annual revenue of $8M+ preferred.
- Multi-unit, regional, district, or cross-venue leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success improving revenue, managing complex budgets, controlling costs, and developing high-performing teams.
- Proven ability to coach senior venue leaders while remaining accountable for direct venue performance.
- Strong business acumen, critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to balance responsibilities across multiple venues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly between The Colony and Houston, with overnight travel as needed.
- Ability to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, or a related field preferred.
Working Conditions
- This position is based primarily at Puttery The Colony and requires regular travel to the Houston venue to support regional operations, leadership development, special events, and business needs.
- Travel may include air or ground transportation and occasional overnight stays.
- Work schedules will vary based on venue operations and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during high-volume periods, special events, or business-critical situations.
- This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role requiring regular presence throughout active entertainment, dining, bar, kitchen, event, and office areas.
- The role requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods; move throughout multi-level or large venue spaces; sit, use a computer, and review reports for extended periods; and communicate effectively in busy, high-noise environments.
- May be required to lift, carry, push, pull, or move items weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Regular exposure to a fast-paced hospitality environment, including noise, crowds, food and beverage service areas, and changing business demands.
- Must be able to respond calmly and effectively to urgent operational, guest service, staffing, safety, and facility-related concerns.
- Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
