High Voltage Commissioning Manager

What You'll Do Reporting to the Operations Manager, the HV Commissioning Manager is responsible for facilitating, establishing, and executing plans policies, and construction activities to their assigned projects. This role is responsible for facilitating the implementation of the company’s priorities and objectives while coordinating between the Operations Manager, Project Managers, and their assigned Commissioning Team. The HV Manager will oversee and direct a team of Commissioning Technologists as well as subcontracted commissioning teams, oversee operations and deliverables of Rising Edge Technologies while establishing long-term relationships with clients and business partners. This role will also focus on the continuous improvement of the company’s business model to maximize productivity and growth. Key Responsibilities The responsibilities include, but may not be limited to: Manage a team of assigned Commissioning Technologists or subcontracted commissioning teams, Qualified Electrical Workers and client vendors on a client project Primarily a field role, ability to work in remote locations most of the time Ability to oversee/supervise multiple HV/MV projects and commissioning and switching deliverables Ensure all project safety protocols / procedures are followed, and safety standards are met during the planning and execution of Commissioning project phases with the ability to adapt them to the specific needs and unique risks Responsible for the overall assigned team, project planning, execution, training and supervision of personnel Responsible for the safe and timely execution of all Commissioning and Switching activities and integration of these activities with both Project and Operations Provide technical support to all Project Managers and Field Staff as required Prepare/Review/Approve test procedures, safety procedures and policies Responsible for managing interfaces with the Operations Manager, Construction and Commissioning Managers and their respective teams Coordinates with Engineering to ensure that Commissioning and Start-up Engineering deliverables are met Attends site visits, commissioning kick off meetings, training sessions, and provides technical assistance during project execution as required Supervise and work safely alongside all members of the on site team Lead client meetings, schedules, issue resolutions, and deficiency resolutions for projects Craft proposals for client RFPs and project pricing requests Maintain effective communication with all project participants to ensure projects are being executed on time and within budget Take an active role in coaching all junior staff to ensure developmental needs for the individual and the business are met Assessments, development as well as working with HR on tracking employee development, and completing employee reviews on the assigned Commissioning Team Works closely with the Project Management Team to ensure the requirements for the Commissioning and Energization phase are clearly communicated and understood Leads daily and weekly progress review meetings Assisting the Operations Manager with switching/isolation requirements throughout the area, including completing the required assessments on other employees Availability to provide vacation coverage for other leads and managers during peak project times Provide feedback to Operations Manager on resource needs and shortages. Assist with completing interviews and recruitment efforts Coordination of manpower and resources with other managers to execute projects Additional Information This position is designated as safety-sensitive making employment contingent upon the successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, as well as criminal and general background checks. Schedule & Compensation Schedule rotations will be dependent on project contract and requirements determined by the project team Standard workdays are 10 hours (7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.) Overtime paid at time and a half after 40 hours per week Out-of-town work includes all-inclusive LOA as per the Rising Edge Hours of Work policy A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role is $60.00 - $80.00 USD at the time of this posting. Individual compensation within the range is determined based on job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training. What We're Looking For Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or a Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution Minimum 5 years of experience in field testing and commissioning Minimum 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience 5–10 years of experience in utility and/or industrial sectors Strong proficiency with computer systems and relevant software Certified/qualified in switching operations (e.g., Switchman, GOI/LOTO, EB&G) Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset Proven problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and workplace health standards Valid Class 5 driver’s license and ability to work in adverse weather conditions Comfortable working at heights Willingness to travel, work out of town, and operate on rotational schedules as required Flexibility to work extended hours or on-call based on project demands Benefits Competitive compensation with weekly pay periods Generous paid time off 401(k) employer matching Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, and disability) Select PPE provided as required Company-paid safety training Living Out Allowance (LOA) is provided for all days worked in the field and varies based on specific project requirements.
