Job Description
Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Schedule

12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15) with a commitment of 36 or 48 hours per week. Scheduling includes every other weekend.

Assignment Details

Staff will be assigned to a storm team or hurricane team and may be required to report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters.

Requirements

• Active RN license required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the last 5 years.
• Skills in heparin drips, PCA, colostomy care, feeding tube management, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, phlebotomy, PICC line management, IV starts, management of dysrhythmias, O2 protocol management, non-invasive airway management, traumatic brain injury care, orthopedic trauma, surgical drains, chest tube management, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, tracheostomy management, and wound care.
• Epic documentation experience required.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assess needs related to medical and surgical conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Follow infection control procedures and safety protocols.

Compliance / Notes
