Job Description
Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Schedule

12HR Night shifts with a target ratio of 1:5-6. 36 or 48 hours accepted. Traveler will be assigned to every other weekend.

Assignment Details

Must be comfortable floating to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding. RTO is limited to 7 days maximum for auto offers.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required within the last 5 years.
• Active RN license required.
• Skills: Heparin drips, PCA, Colostomy care, Feeding tube care and management, Blood product administration, Central and Peripheral line care/management, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, IV starts, Management of dysrhythmias, O2 protocol management, Non-invasive airway management, Isolation precautions/PPE, Traumatic brain injury, Ortho trauma, Surgical drains, Chest tubes, Nasal cannula, Oral suctioning, Tracheostomy management, Wound care.
• Epic documentation experience required.
• Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Preferred experience in interpretation of dysrhythmias, pre/post hemodialysis management, management of drips, CVA, pre/post neuro surgery, spinal cord injuries.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assist in the overall management of patient health.
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with medical staff to assess patient needs and develop care plans.
• Support and educate patients and their families about health conditions and care.

Compliance / Notes

Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster.
