Shipping and Receiving Specialist

The Shipping and Receiving Specialist is responsible for the movement, staging, replenishment, and inventory control of materials throughout the facility. Working as part of the Supply Chain team, this position supports production operations by ensuring raw materials, components, tooling, and supplies are available where and when they are needed.

This role works closely with the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor and production departments to receive, transport, stage, return, and ship materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and ERP transactions. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities include receiving incoming materials, processing transactions accurately within the ERP system, picking, kitting, staging, and delivering materials to production areas, replenishing production materials and point-of-use inventory, picking up and returning completed parts, maintaining inventory accuracy, preparing and shipping customer orders, coordinating shipments, monitoring production schedules, moving materials throughout the facility, maintaining organized warehouse areas, communicating with various departments, supporting continuous improvement efforts, and following safety procedures.

Required skills and qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, minimum 2 years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, inventory control, or material handling environment, demonstrated experience supporting production operations, inventory management, material flow, or warehouse activities, ability to read and follow work instructions, strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize work effectively, basic computer proficiency, and strong communication skills.

Environment and physical demands include working in a manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, and inventory management environment, frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, twisting, and movement, regular use of hands, arms, and fingers to handle materials, frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials, ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds independently, frequent use of computers, barcode scanners, ERP systems, and inventory management tools, operation of material handling equipment, exposure to a manufacturing environment, wearing of safety glasses and other required personal protective equipment, occasional exposure to oils, coolants, packaging materials, and other manufacturing-related substances, ability to move between multiple departments and workstations, and occasional overtime.
