Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM to develop, enhance, and support high-volume enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in application development, production support, performance optimization, and release management within large transaction-based systems. This role requires strong technical leadership, problem-solving abilities, and collaboration with cross-functional teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, maintain, and support complex Mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM
- Participate in application architecture, technical design, estimation, and project planning activities
- Develop and optimize enterprise applications for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Design program specifications and ensure compliance with coding standards and best practices
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions
- Review and improve development, testing, and deployment processes
- Support release management activities and production deployments
- Create technical documentation, design specifications, and operational procedures
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, architects, and developers throughout the SDLC
- Guide junior developers and provide technical leadership across development initiatives
- Monitor application performance and recommend enhancements to improve operational efficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with IBM MQ
- Experience working in large financial services or transaction-based environments
