A well-established and growing construction organization is seeking a Project Accountant to support multiple active projects while partnering with Project Managers, subcontractors, and accounting teams. Why This Opportunity Stands Out Hybrid schedule: 4 days onsite, Fridays remote Potential for long-term extension Collaborative team of Project Accountants and AP professionals Hands-on involvement with high-profile construction projects Opportunity to expand your expertise in construction accounting, project billing, and job costing Flexible work arrangement with potential for additional remote flexibility after training What You’ll Do Manage project invoicing and billing based on contract terms, schedules of values, and project costs Review job cost data to ensure project expenses are captured accurately Support project financial reporting, reconciliations, and account analysis Review contracts, proposals, and change documentation to ensure billing compliance Process and track subcontractor documentation and contractual requirements Coordinate collections activities and resolve billing discrepancies Manage lien releases, tier releases, and supporting payment documentation Prepare certified payrolls, union documentation, and project compliance reports Support external audits and project billing reviews Partner with Project Managers, General Contractors, and internal teams to ensure accurate project financials What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications 3+ years of Project Accounting or Construction Accounting experience Strong understanding of job costing and project billing Experience processing invoices and managing project financial documentation Construction industry experience is required Strong reconciliation and reporting skills Intermediate to advanced Excel skills Excellent communication and organizational abilities Preferred Qualifications Experience with Vista ERP Experience supporting subcontractors or specialty contractors Knowledge of certified payroll, union reporting, and construction compliance documentation Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Ideal Backgrounds You'll likely be successful in this role if you've worked as a: Project Accountant Construction Accountant Billing Specialist (Construction) Job Cost Accountant Project Coordinator with accounting responsibilities Experience from commercial construction, specialty contractors, mechanical contractors, electrical contractors, or general contractors is highly valued. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Lynnwood, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $43.25/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
