Senior Family Law Attorney

The Alsandor Law Firm is a Houston boutique practice devoted exclusively to Texas family law. We represent clients in contested divorce, custody litigation, child support, possession and access, and complex high-net-worth property matters. Our managing attorney is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Our firm is built on precise legal work, careful preparation, and clear, compassionate client communication. The Opportunity We are seeking a Board Certified, or similarly experienced, family law attorney to serve as Supervising Counsel. This is a leadership role, not simply a senior caseload. You will manage a select docket of your own matters. You will also be the firm’s quality checkpoint. That means reviewing and approving pleadings, orders, and correspondence before they go out, supervising and developing our associate attorneys and paralegals, and answering client questions with authority and care. When the managing attorney is unavailable, you will be the attorney the team relies on for strategy, decisions, and final sign-off. This role is an extension of the managing attorney’s practice. You will bring seasoned judgment, and you will also learn and apply the firm’s established standards for drafting, client communication, and case strategy. We are looking for an accomplished lawyer who is genuinely open to adapting their approach and who will hold others to those standards consistently. Role Balance Approximately 60% your own caseload Approximately 40% review, supervision, and client support Key Responsibilities Manage your own family law caseload from intake through final order, including contested hearings, mediation, and trial Review and approve pleadings, motions, discovery, proposed orders, and final decrees prepared by associates and paralegals. Ensure accuracy, compliance with the Texas Family Code and local rules, and consistency with case strategy and firm standards. Sign off on filings and outgoing correspondence within defined authority Supervise and mentor associate attorneys and paralegals through weekly case reviews, constructive feedback, hearing preparation, and second-chairing Answer client questions and provide clear guidance on case status, options, and next steps Collaborate with the managing attorney on strategy, staffing, and complex matters Provide leadership and continuity during the managing attorney’s absences Required Qualifications Board Certification in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, preferred J.D. and active license with the State Bar of Texas, in good standing 8+ years of practice focused on Texas family law Substantial contested litigation experience, including evidentiary hearings and trial Command of the Texas Family Code, Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, Texas Rules of Evidence, and Harris County and surrounding c ounties family court practice Demonstrated experience supervising, reviewing, or mentoring attorneys or paralegals Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to give direct, constructive feedback A collaborative, coachable professional style and a willingness to adopt firm standards Preferred Qualifications Experience with high-net-worth property division, business valuation, or division of retirement assets (QDROs) Proficiency with Clio or comparable practice management software Schedule Hybrid, with 3–4 days in office and in-office coverage during the managing attorney’s absences. Regular appearances in Harris County and surrounding courts.
